Oceans of Possibilities

Oceans of Possibilities

This year the library is having its biggest summer program ever.  Oceans of Possibilities will be eight weeks of family fun; every member of your crew is shore to discover something to octopi their time at the library. You'll encounter a mermaid on her throne on Wednesday, June 23 at Splash Day Kickoff.  OH WOW! will show kids how to build their own boats and the Akron Zoo will visit with aquatic animals. Teens will be able to try out VR goggles and plot an escape from the Bermuda Triangle. Adults will create acrylic paintings inspired by seashells, make their own nautical luminaries, and visit seven wonders without leaving the community room. Plus, there will be author visits from Leigh Lewis (Pirate Queens) and Wendy Koile (Lake Erie Murder and Mayhem). Registration begins Monday, June 6. The full calendar is below, and all events except for Family Funtimes and Thursday storytimes require registration.  This project was supported in part by federal Institute of Museum and Library Services funds, granted through the State Library of Ohio.
