The first title for our Fantasy Book Group is Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames.  Retired mercenary Clay Cooper reluctantly reunites with members of his old band to rescue a cohort's daughter from a horde of monsters. His companions include an absent-minded wizard, a king held prisoner by his queen, and a warrior encased in stone.

Have you been lured in by the seeming tranquility of fly fishing but don't know where to start with this new hobby?  On Saturday, March 5 at noon the library presents Fly Fishing 101 with Brian Joyce.  Mr. Joyce has been fly fishing the Great Lakes region for over two decades for steelhead, salmon, and brown trout.  He will display basic gear, exhibit fly tying, share photos of some of his big catches, and (weather permitting)  demonstrate casting outside.  Please sign up by Thursday, March 3.  Call the Circulation Desk to register at 330-545-2508

Are you interested in homebrewing but want to know more before you tap in? Join Matt Proch for Homebrew 101 on Wednesday, March 16 at 6:30 PM. You will learn about beer basics, history, world varieties and introductory brewing. Mr. Proch has been homebrewing for five years. Trumbull County Master Gardener Wanda Thomas returns to the library for a program on straw bale gardening.  She will discuss the process and explain how you can make this type of container gardening both functional and decorative.  Sign up is required.  Call the Circulation Desk at 330-545-2508 to register.

The Pop Lit Group discusses Amor Towles' acclaimed novel A Gentleman in Moscow.  In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is sentenced by a Bolshevik tribunal to lifetime house arrest in the attic of the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin.  At the hotel he will become involved in espionage, romance, and politics as his life intertwines with the hotel's staff and itinerant guests.

The Classics Book Group discusses The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.  Set in 17th century Puritan Massachusetts, the novel tells the story a young woman shamed by her community, a minister tortured by guilt, and a husband obsessed with revenge.  

Spring flowers will be the inspiration for our Beginning Painting class.  Local artist Jan Stevens will teach basic techniques, including color blending, with acrylic paints.

On Wednesday, April 13, teen librarian Chelsea Podgorny is hosting the library’s first Manga Night.  From 5:30-7:30 teens can hang out at the library and talk about their favorite manga.  Both noobs and otaku in grades six through twelve are welcome, and snacks will be served.  Call the Circulation Desk at
