Kids in the Kitchen

The Library is whipping up something special with our Kids in the Kitchen program.  Aspiring chefs in grades two through six will learn cooking skills from scratch during these events.  Library staff will lead the kids through basic recipes--from the assembly of ingredients to preparation of the food to sampling of the finished dish.  Kids in the Kitchen will be great for both parents and kids.  Cooking is a valuable life skill and provides children with a sense of self-sufficiency.  Moreover, measuring and counting improve math skills; observing changes in food during cooking reinforces science concepts; and choosing ingredients encourages creativity.  Picky eaters may even become more adventurous if they can help in the cooking.  The first Kids in the Kitchen will be Thursday, April 28 from 4 to 5 PM, and the second will be on Thursday, May 12 from 4 to 5 PM.  Call 330-545-2508 to sign up
