OH WOW! Science and Technology--Fluorescent Fun (Registration closed)

Kids ages 5-8 make play-doh that fluoresces under black light by extracting fluorescein from a highlighter and learning about its uses. Fluorescein has many uses in medicine, optometry, groundwater tracing, leak detection, plant science, and it has even been used to dye the Chicago River green for St. Patrick's Day.  Registration is required.
