On Thursday, May 4 at 6 PM, the Library is proud to welcome historian and local author Joseph Lambert, Jr.  His current book is First Citizen: the Industrious Life of Joseph G. Butler, Jr.. Butler co-founded Ohio Steel, masterminded the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial, and created the Butler Museum of American Art.

Joseph Lambert, Jr. holds a BA and MA in History from Youngstown State University, where he studied under Salmon P. Chase biographer Frederick J. Blue. He is a former research associate at the Ohio History Connection and Youngstown Historical Center of Labor and Industry. Lambert's second book, The Political Transformation of David Tod: Governing Ohio during the Height of the Civil War will be available on November 7, 2023. Call to sign up.
