The Moon, Apollo and the Times of Lunar Exploration

Why were the last three Apollo missions cancelled?  How much of John F. Kennedy’s space program dream really came true?  What are the true costs of space exploration?  Doug Fowler--former Youngstown State University adjunct instructor in both the Department of Geology and the Department of Physics and Astronomy--sheds new light on the Apollo program, discussing moon rocks, lunar geology, and the science accomplished by these missions.  Plus, he will discuss the historical context of the time--the end of World War II, the start of the Cold War, and the subsequent rise in new social and political awareness.  Registration is required.
