The Friends of the Library Book Sale returns in 2021.  From Friday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 22 (excluding Sunday), shop a huge selection of children's, teen, and adult paperbacks, hardbacks, and audiovisuals.  Do some serious bargain hunting Monday through Wednesday when you can fill an entire box or bag for only $2.00.

Also, check out the surplus sale in the library garage for used bookshelves, filing cabinets, desks and tables. Find a deal on storage items for your home office, garage, basement, or playroom.

All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Girard Free Library.  The Friends sponsor our summer reading programs and fund special events and speakers for the library.

Preschoolers and an adult caregiver enjoy stories, music, and movements that will introduce them to the joys of reading.

The Buckeye State has produced its share of wicked women; history and true crime writer Jane Ann Turzillo will share some of their stories on Thursday, October 14 at 6 PM.

Due to a special event, the library will close at 4 PM.

The Book Group discusses The Paris Wife--Paula McLain's acclaimed novel of the tumultuous relationship between Ernest Hemingway and first wife Hadley Richardson.

Have you ever thought about reading (or re-reading) the classics but needed some moral support and a little guidance from an English teacher?  Join the library's Great Books Discussion Group, where you can dip into the literary canon in a more informal setting.  The first title will be The Great Gatsby by F.

Beginning Tuesday, October 5 the library will offer after school crafts.  On Tuesdays at 3:45, grades K through 3 can drop in to make a fun seasonal project.  No registration is necessary. Call Mrs. Selak at 545-2508 ext. 107 for more information.
