Before you head into the woods to start a new mushroom foraging hobby or to hunt for mushrooms for your next dish, join mycologist Walt Sturgeon for a program on mushroom diversity and ecology. He will show distinctive edible and toxic species, share folklore, and describe some insectivorous and intoxicating varieties. Mr. Sturgeon has over forty years of field experience, and he is an award-winning photographer. He is the author Appalachian Mushrooms and co-author of Mushrooms of the Northeast. Share your plants with other gardeners and take home something new. Bring a healthy, pest-free plant or cutting (in soil) to swap. If possible, label your plants and remember to plant them in a pot you don't need back.
