Stories and activities for the whole family

Before you head into the woods to start a new mushroom foraging hobby or to hunt for mushrooms for your next dish, join mycologist Walt Sturgeon for a program on mushroom diversity and ecology.  He will show distinctive edible and toxic species, share folklore, and describe some insectivorous and intoxicating varieties.  Mr. Sturgeon has over forty years of field experience, and he is an award-winning photographer.  He is the author Appalachian Mushrooms and co-author of Mushrooms of the Northeast.  Call to sign up for this program.

The furry friends from K9's for Compassion are all ears so come read them a story.  This is for ages up to 12, and registration is required.  

The Classics Book Group will discuss A Separate Peace by John Knowles.  It is a coming-of-age-novel set against the backdrop of World War II.
