• This November, the Girard Free Library is holding our annual Food for Fines; the Library will offer up to $25 in fine forgiveness to anyone who donates at least two non-perishable food items to the Emmanuel Center. The last day to donate is Tuesday, November 26. 
  • On Tuesday, November 12 at 6 PM, Doug Fowler--former Youngstown State University adjunct instructor in the Departments of Geology and Physics and Astronomy--will retrace the voyage from the theoretical physics pioneers to Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon.
  • On Saturday, November 16, at 2:30 PM, join us and learn to create a concise, professional looking resume using Google Docs.

We've decorated the inside of the library for our Oceans of Possibility summer program.  Now families can help us transform the outside by turning our sidewalks into seascapes and other aquatic scenes using sidewalk chalk.

Leigh Lewis is a children's writer whose middle-school debut Pirate Queens:  Dauntless Women Who Dared to Ruled the High Seas spotlights six fierce real-life female pirates.  The book was published by National Geographic.  

You're a Poet, Don't Cha Know It? at 11 AM for ages 6-10:  Kids will explore verse forms--some from Pirate Queens--and write a two-voice poem, mad-libs style.
