• This November, the Girard Free Library is holding our annual Food for Fines; the Library will offer up to $25 in fine forgiveness to anyone who donates at least two non-perishable food items to the Emmanuel Center. The last day to donate is Tuesday, November 26. 
  • This Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30 p.m. learn to paint in Adobe Fresco with this easy Bob Ross-inspired follow-along. All you need is an iPad, a stylus, a little instruction, and a vision of a winter cabin in the woods. The Library will provide the first three.
  • Bring the family on Saturday, November 23 at 11 am for a free movie--Harold and the Purple Crayon.

Charlotte Bessette is on the verge of achieving a lifelong dream when she opens a cheese shop in her hometown of Providence, Ohio.  Her happiness is curdled, however, when right outside the shop Charlotte finds a body, the victim stabbed to death with one of her prized olive-wood handled knives.

Aspiring chefs in grades two through six will learn cooking skills from scratch during these events. Library staff will lead the kids through basic recipes--from the assembly of ingredients to preparation of the food to sampling of the finished dish. In January, they'll be working with a versatile comfort food--pasta.  Registration is required. Please call 330-545-2508 to sign up by the preceding Tuesday so we have time to go to the grocery store.
