• This November, the Girard Free Library is holding our annual Food for Fines; the Library will offer up to $25 in fine forgiveness to anyone who donates at least two non-perishable food items to the Emmanuel Center. The last day to donate is Tuesday, November 26.

Our Classics Book Group discusses Ernest Hemingway's first novel--The Sun Also Rises.  It follows a group of young, disillusioned British and American ex-patriates as they wander through Europe after World War I.  The center of the novel is the complicated relationship between war vet and journalist Jake Barnes and liberated socialite Lady Brett Ashley.

Library staff will lead the kids through basic recipes--from the assembly of ingredients to preparation of the food to sampling of the finished dish. Registration is required, and attendance is limited.  Please call 330-545-2508 to sign up by the preceding Tuesday so we have time to go to the grocery store.
