• This November, the Girard Free Library is holding our annual Food for Fines; the Library will offer up to $25 in fine forgiveness to anyone who donates at least two non-perishable food items to the Emmanuel Center. The last day to donate is Tuesday, November 26. 
  • Bring the family on Saturday, November 23 at 11 am for a free movie--Harold and the Purple Crayon.
  • Join us at 6:00 p.m. on December 3rd, for the Culture Book Group and discuss A Holly Jolly Diwali by Sonya Lalli, or December 4th for the Popular Literature Book Group and bring your favorite book and introduce it to others.

Go on a road trip through Cleveland baseball history with Martin Gitlin, sportswriter and author of The Ultimate Cleveland Indians Time Machine Book. The evening covers it all, from the fascinating 1899 Spiders--whose 20-134 record remains the worst in major league history--to the brilliance of Bob Feller and the 1948 championship team to the miseries of the 1960s to the pennant winners of the 1990s and 2016 to the death of Chief Wahoo and the team nickname.

Container gardens are ideal for those with little or no garden space.  In addition to flowers, a wide variety of vegetable crops grow happily in pots and elevated beds.  Trumbull County Master Gardener Wanda Thomas will outline essential steps for a successful container garden and identify the best plants.
